Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your gear without relying upon large-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your gear.
Upgrades to equipment give a bonus on the item's stats. This bonus is based on the upgrade component's level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons stronger. You can locate them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in items-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment that has the components, or by utilizing high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrade components, upgrade components aren't destroyed when removed from an item.
Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item but they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the quality of an item that can be upgraded or they can be used to boost the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can be made for additional bonuses. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the chance of upgrading its target while a boost upgrade increases the defense or attack capabilities of a weapon.
Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item. This will show the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. Alternately, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either scenario the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components are gathered.
Each component has its own experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item gains when upgraded using that component. For instance, organic components give an experience multiplier that is higher than mechanical ones. You should upgrade your organic components first until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment and then move on to mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with a maximum upgrade number that is available for. The number of upgrades are determined by the upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon with 10th level. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun with tier 6 and a armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items which share bonuses. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade increases the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade an item or set piece is that it will be given an increase of +1 to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats are boosted even further (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades can also boost the damage base of a weapon. This can be crucial for certain types of builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give greater maximum defence rolls than their base. It is possible to increase value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, but they're not always better than a Runeword with a high level.
If an item you're upgrading comes with a guaranteed bonus it is able to be rerolled once and its guarantee will be reset to 0. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as bringing an item up, but the upgraded item will come with various bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the proper amount of Minerals and Erons as well as a power dice of each type. These can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also give an additional reward for each completed tier of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and the reroll will use the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
If players have enough tokens for rerolling, they can play rerolling any item they've accumulated during the game. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced with an equivalent level 1 version from another set. Reroll tokens can be bought from the store for a small amount of in-game currency, however they aren't refundable. The upgraded item will still have the extra bonuses of the first however its stats will differ as well.
In addition to rerolling items, players can also alter the identification of any equipment by engaging with an upgrader NPC. This will change its identification from a weapons to armor, or reverse it. The base stats and requirements remain the same. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters who own the equipment.
The player can also upgrade the item level for any equipment equipped. item upgrade is accomplished by interacting with an upgrader NPC and getting upgrade items. This will cost a set number of crests and Valorstones according to the upgrade track and the item type. In the case of weapons, each step will add 5% to its damage.
The upgrade of an item will make it more powerful however it can reduce its effectiveness. Therefore, it is important to find a balance between these two. Some items may not be worth upgrading however, others will need to be upgraded to reach their potential. One player may wish to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modifier (% block chance or FHR) in order to discover what it could become.
Rerolling is a common practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. item upgrader do it to gain access to an item or character they cannot otherwise get. These items can be costly and time-consuming to obtain, and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only options left are to spend real cash or grind for a long time. For this reason, rerolling is a popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can choose whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I think it was meant to to add value to rare items, but as the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded one level up, you'll usually replace the item before it gets old enough. It's not worth upgrading items using gem sockets because the power of the stone will outweigh any increase in ilvl.
If you click the upgrade option on an item, you'll get a small screen with the upgrade template for the item and the cost of crest and Valorstone to increase the level of the item. Armor and weapons have different costs, with the former usually being more expensive. The upgrade template lists the statistics that will be added to the upgraded item. It also lists its current base ilvl.
The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated by analyzing the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. The ilvl will also be decreased by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For example weapons with an increase of 8% will reduce its value by 8-8%.

In addition to the base ilvl boost it will also get upgrades in other stats such as critical strike damage, damage from PvE and dodge, block and parry rating. These increases are built on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item is able to receive when leveled up can be shown below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All armor and weapons that are not practice equipment get these stats when they level up. The market will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can fetch more than a non-upp’d version. The same applies to other pieces of armor, such as circlets and Tiaras.
