World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade option lets players boost the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats, such as crit chance, attack damage, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also have an unchanging bonus that increases their damage per second. Some weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also reroll the stats of their base. While this is usually an excellent thing however, it could have negative effects as well. In the case of items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you get a lucky roll.
Armor items can be upgraded to improve their performance. This will increase the base defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it can sometimes reduce its value.
The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats that it will get when upgraded and their respective values. This means that an upgrade from a sword with 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button that has arrows that circle in the menu for items. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but it will not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make a a huge difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison fire, magic, and other. This makes it easier to traverse difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you can receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all each of which requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in frigid environments with a lot of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with friends.
You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical strength or spell power. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. Generally speaking, item upgrading 'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have a few upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide the player with a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. Alternatively the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be earned by making them on a crafting table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades is dependent on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI in which you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP total.
When a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle within which it is stored. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For example the splash potions now have an average duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The potion table is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effects. The table of potions has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also be an object or ornament that has a purpose but is not important such as a Thimble. In some cultures a trinket is used to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.
Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new ones. A player can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same base level as the old trinket but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once the old ones are not needed which allows a player to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them a popular alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear and other equipment that they won't replace anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). When deciding on which items to upgrade players should be aware of their class's preferred statistics. For instance, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.
After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional 1percent bonus. However, a re-upgrade will cause the trinket to be destroyed, unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than purchasing the new one.
